Florida Worker Sues Over Disputed Workers Comp Medical Bills

Jenie Mallari-Torres writing for the Florida Record reported that an Orange County woman has filed a lawsuit against Florida Hospital Medical Group, Inc. in the Orange Circuit Court over a disputed workers comp medical bill. She is alleging that Radiology Specialists of Florida is violating collection practices by attempting to collect a bill that was related to an on-the-job injury. The complaint alleges that for the past year, the company has been pursuing collection efforts for a medical bill that is related to a workers comp injury. The medical services were provided after the woman suffered an injury at work while she was employed as a crossing guard. She alleges the company knows that the injuries she was treated for were covered by Florida’s workers’ compensation system. […]

Man Fires Gun at AT&T Workers in Hialeah

NBC 6 News reported on the incident last week in Hialeah in which a former Miami-Dade firefighter pulled a gun on AT&T workers. According to the news report, Jorge Jove began firing his gun at the AT&T trucks around 11:30 a.m. outside of his home. Two workers were on site but not injured in the incident. Cellphone video shows Jove walk toward the trucks and shoot out the tires. Jove reloaded his gun several times as he continued to shoot at the trucks. […]
