Talcum Powder Linked with Increased Risk of Ovarian Cancer

A recent study has linked the use of talcum powder with ovarian cancer. Women who use talcum powder as a feminine hygiene product around their genitals have a 33 percent higher risk of developing ovarian cancer. The study interviewed 2,041 women with ovarian cancer and 2,100 women without ovarian cancer to ask about their use of talcum powder and products containing talcum powder. The results of the study revealed that women who routinely used talcum powder in their underwear, on feminine hygiene products, or applied directly to their genital areas had an increased risk of developing the deadly form of cancer.
