ABC Action News in Tampa Bay reported last month on the tragic death of a driver and his girlfriend, and three other people, in a crash on Coconut Palm Drive at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The driver of a VW Golf traveling west on MLK Jr. Boulevard approaching Coconut Palm Drive lost control of the vehicle, crossed over the median, and collided with a Toyota Sienna minivan traveling east on MLK Jr. Boulevard. After colliding with the Toyota Sienna, the VW Golf collided with a Toyota Scion and debris from the crash struck a BMW 3-series. Talcum Powder Linked with Increased Risk of Ovarian Cancer

A recent study has linked the use of talcum powder with ovarian cancer. Women who use talcum powder as a feminine hygiene product around their genitals have a 33 percent higher risk of developing ovarian cancer. The study interviewed 2,041 women with ovarian cancer and 2,100 women without ovarian cancer to ask about their use of talcum powder and products containing talcum powder. The results of the study revealed that women who routinely used talcum powder in their underwear, on feminine hygiene products, or applied directly to their genital areas had an increased risk of developing the deadly form of cancer. Motor Vehicle Fatalities Increasing According To One Report

The National Safety Council (NSC) has released its findings for the first half of 2016 regarding motor vehicle fatalities. According to the NSC, fatalities from motor vehicle accidents increased nine percent from the same period a year before and eighteen percent from the previous year. During the first six months of 2016, approximately 19,100 people died in traffic accidents and 2.2 million people were seriously injured. The total cost from these deaths and injuries is $205 billion.

Florida had the largest increase in motor vehicle fatalities since 2014 in the United States. Florida’s increase in motor vehicle deaths was 43 percent, almost 20 percent more than the fifth largest increase (Kentucky at 24 percent).

Why Are Deaths From Motor Vehicle Accidents Increasing At Such High Rates?

The NSC points to lower unemployment rates and a stronger economy as leading factors for the increase in the rate of motor vehicle fatalities. The Fast and Furious star was a passenger in the Porsche, which was traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph at the time of the crash according to police reports.
