The Governor’s Highway Safety Association (GHSA) issued a News Release last week announcing it has updated its Drug Impaired Driving: A Guide For States because of the continued increase in the number of drugged driving fatalities. According to information by the GHSA, 43% of fatally-injured drivers in 2015 tested positive for some type of drug, a much higher percent than alcohol-impaired driver fatalities for that year. The GHSA is urging states and lawmakers to take steps to crack down on drugged driving incidents. Introducing new programs, providing additional resources, training for law enforcement officers, and empowering a state-wide task force are some of the suggestions provided to states by the GHSA. […]
What are the Common Injuries in a Motor Vehicle Accident?
While some motor vehicle accidents may only involve property damage, most accidents involve some degree of bodily injury. The injuries you sustain in a motor vehicle accident can vary greatly depending on several factors such as were you riding a motorcycle; did a semi-truck cause the accident; and, how fast were the cars traveling the time of the crash.
Regardless of the severity of your injuries, you should always seek medical attention following a motor vehicle accident. Some injuries (i.e. closed head injury) may not be easily identified immediately following an accident. Even if you do not need emergency medical attention, it is always in your best interest to follow up with your primary care physician after being involved in a car crash. […]
What Can A Boca Raton Personal Injury Attorney Do To Help Me?
An insurance adjuster will tell you that a personal injury attorney cannot do anything that you cannot do yourself to settle your accident claim. Some adjusters may go as far as to tell you that a personal injury attorney will only charge a high fee for doing the same work so that you receive less money for your accident claim.
What you must remember is that the insurance adjuster is not looking out for your best interest. The insurance adjuster’s job is to pay you as little as possible to settle your accident claim. Insurance companies are in business to make money; therefore, paying you for your accident claim is not in the insurance company’s best interest. The adjuster works for the insurance company — the adjuster does not work for you. […]

It is always in your best interest to seek medical attention as soon as possible following any type of accident.
Your next priority is protecting your legal right to hold them personally responsible for the accident liable for your damages. An important step in this process is gathering evidence from the accident scene. […]

In the past, engineers focused on building safer vehicles by reducing injury in a collision. Airbags and steel beams in the doors are just two of the ways cars are safer today than in past years. However, the focus has moved to preventing a collision. Crash avoidance systems available on new models include: […]
